What is Goddess Story: Goddess Story (女神物語), also known as Goddess Story Collection Cards or Goddess Story TCG, is a widely recognized but unofficial anime trading card series from China. Launched in mid-2020 by the company Little Frog (小青蛙), it has quickly gained immense popularity among collectors.
Due to its rapid rise, “Goddess Story” has become a generic term for any brand or set of waifu cards, similar to how “Google” is synonymous with search engines. This widespread usage can be confusing, especially for newcomers to the hobby.
The series features a variety of collectible cards, each showcasing popular female characters from anime and video games. Each booster pack typically contains a mix of R (Rare), SR (Super Rare), and higher rarity cards, making it exciting for collectors to complete their sets. The booster boxes contain different number of cards depending on the “Yuan tier” – This will be explained later.
At Waifu360.com, we provide comprehensive information and guides on Waifu Cards in general, but this section is specifically dedicated to Goddess Story. Here, you’ll find detailed information on the various sets, their contents, and where they can be purchased. Some general information will apply to all Waifu Cards.
Despite Goddess Story being unofficial, any waifu card products that use the Goddess Story logo but do not feature the Little Frog (小青蛙) company logo are considered “bootlegs.”
Yuan (元) is the unit of currency in Mainland China, where the Goddess Story anime trading card series originates. In the context of Goddess Story, “Yuan” refers to the cost per booster pack, as indicated on the outside of the booster box. You can see an example by hovering over the photo on the left. Higher Yuan boxes generally contain higher-rarity cards, reflecting their higher price. The “Yuan” cost is also embedded in each Goddess Story set’s code. For instance, NS-5M02 refers to the second 5 Yuan box, NS-5M03 to the third 5 Yuan box, and NS-10M05 to the fifth 10 Yuan box, and so on. This naming convention is also present in the set code printed on the back of Goddess Story cards, which is how to determine which set a card belongs to.
For example, you may see a set code with similar convention to “NS-5M03-PR-005” on the back of your card. “NS-5M03” is the set that the card is from, “PR” is the rarity, and “005” is the card number within the set.
In the Goddess Story anime trading card series, various rarity acronyms are used to denote the scarcity and value of cards. Some, like R (Rare), SR (Super Rare), and SSR (Super Super Rare), are easily understood, as they follow common conventions used in many trading card games.
However, many rarities in Goddess Story don’t have clear meanings. For example, acronyms like DSR, CR, PTR, ZR, or others may seem like they follow a logical pattern but don’t necessarily stand for anything specific. While collectors may guess that they refer to something like “Depressed Super Rare” or similar, there’s no official explanation for these terms.
Additionally, some rarities may be exclusive to sets from certain “Yuan” tiers. For example, ZR rarity cards can only be pulled from 5 Yuan Boxes. A list of all Goddess Story Booster Box Releases and what rarities they contain can be found here, divided by their “Yuan” tier.

Goddess Story constantly releases new rarities, so there may be newer rarities that are not listed above. However all new cards and rarities will be visible here
Goddess Story cards do not have an official card game, but due to the detailed stats about each “waifu” featured on the back of the cards, fans have creatively developed their own top-trumps-style games. These fan-made games allow players to compare and compete based on the unique attributes and abilities of the characters. The image to the left is a guide to the stats.
Some rarities like CR will not have any stats on the back, and instead just have the Goddess Story logo.
Collectors are therefore collecting Goddess Story cards purely for the artwork.
For most people outside of China, AliExpress is the go-to platform where Chinese card sellers offer their products directly to customers worldwide. This website provides direct links to these sellers, ensuring easy access. Many resellers outside China, particularly on platforms like Whatnot and TikTok, often purchase their items directly from AliExpress, and then resell. As a result, buying booster boxes from platforms like eBay, Amazon, Mercari, TikTok, or Whatnot is generally not recommended, as these items tend to be more expensive compared to AliExpress.
A number of AliExpress Chinese card sellers are active members of the Waifu Card Community on Discord®, providing information and transparency to buyers.
The below list of trusted sellers are recommended by the community, and feedback about these sellers can be found in the Discord® server.
However, there are various waifu card sets catering to different preferences. Some other popular sets, such as “Maiden Party” and “Senpai Goddess Haven,” have built their own followings due to their themed and lewder artwork.
This site’s card gallery (https://waifu360.com/gs-card-gallery/) includes cards from other popular sets. Feel free to use the gallery to explore the artwork that other sets offer.
